Pilot initiatives.

Thoughtful and responsible expansion into new communities is an integral part of QHO’s strategic plan moving forward. Often communities reach out to QHO to form a partnership, and if QHO sees a location as feasible for a potential initiative, members of QHO’s Executive Team carry out a Pilot Initiative.

In the past each Pilot has involved two executive members. These positions are hired internally and not open to the public at Queen’s University. In the past, a Pilot Initiative has taken place over approximately four weeks in the Spring, in which QHO conducts a variety of needs-assessments and communications with relevant stakeholders to get a better idea of QHO’s role in the community. This is followed by sample programming run by QHO, to ensure community members understand the aims and scope of QHO’s initiative model.

Current communities which QHO is working alongside in the form of a Pilot Initiative include:

Georgetown, Guyana
